Empowering Students Through Alternate Access!
Thursday, October 18, 2007 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
When direct select computer access is prohibited due to the severity of physical involvement, scanning and switch use is an option. This presentation will demonstrate how students are using switches and scanning options to gain access to the transition curriculum and community-based work. This presentation will focus on adapted computer access using Discover software. We will demonstrate how packaged and custom made setups are used by students transitioning into work and employment activities. Discover setups can be duplicated on high end communication devices. Videotapes and case studies will be shown and discussed.
